Job Summary:

The Associate Director, GPM&L supports development and execution of programs, projects and strategic initiatives for Daiichi Sankyo global R&D function with primary focus on Daichi Sankyo Pharma Development (DSPD). Work directly with program leads to drive adoption of change management for complex, cross-functional, global teams and workstreams, ensuring comprehensive planning and optimal execution of plans. Assignments will primarily focus on change management and communications activities at the strategic initiative portfolio level and initiative level. In addition to providing project management support on initiatives, as needed.

Ensure interactions and timely collaboration across R&D, key stakeholders and supporting functions to successfully deliver strategic initiatives and build new capabilities for R&D. In collaboration with Initiative Leaders, develop robust change management plans for the prioritized Development strategic initiative portfolio inclusive of the change roadmap, stakeholder analysis, risk assessment and communications plan. Support execution of the change management plans (e.g., stakeholder communications, training, education, successful implementation of change within the business). Develop and manage an integrated change and communications plan / roadmap across the portfolio of strategic initiatives. Build change leadership capability among Development leaders in support of sustained sponsorship and growing Daiichi-Sankyo’s capability to facilitate change.

As a project manager, the ability to drive project design, implementation planning and execution inclusive of providing status, identifying, mitigating or escalating risks and issues. The successful candidate has a solid understanding of the drug development process and is skilled in the use of change and project management tools. Experience working on cross-functional teams as well as an understanding of facilitating high-functioning teams.

As a member of the GMP&L function this position may also support divisional and departmental level objectives. The Associate Director, GPM&L must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable interacting with many different functional groups and leaders.

Responsibilities:

Change Management
  • Provide change management subject matter expertise to the Development initiative portfolio of projects inclusive of defining the change plan, roadmap and stakeholder needs within and across initiatives.
  • Identify requirements for change management and communications for the implementation of business initiatives.
  • Create content to support change management, communications and training needs (e.g. stakeholder analysis, training requirements, stakeholder communications) I.e., build and execute integrated change management and communications plans, in collaboration with Initiative Leaders.
  • Work directly with the Strategic Initiative Group lead and Senior leaders to prioritize the change management needs across the portfolio, educate senior leaders on change management best practices and implement these best practices across Global Development.
Project Management
  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to define project scope, deliverables, responsibilities and timelines
  • Prioritize work effort and lead project teams to drive completion of deliverables
  • Develop and manage project plans, risk and issue logs
  • Create documents and Executive presentations
Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in science, business or liberal arts. Advanced degree in business preferred.

10+ years relevant change management experience, demonstrating subject matter expertise of change management and a winning track record of successful outcomes of strategic initiatives. Project management or consulting experience preferred.

Prior work experience as a top tier management consultant, project manager or similar role in pharmaceutical drug development desirable. Project Management or Change management qualification, certification or diploma is highly desired.
