Job Summary:

This position is responsible for building and maintaining the long-term health of relationships with alliance partners, business leaders, and key stakeholders to ensure that the alliances continue to generate ongoing value. This level reviews, consolidates, and comments on co-development contracts and works proactively identifies risks and process improvements and implements appropriate resolutions. This position is expected to contribute to the overall alliance portfolio management through leading the development of processes and strategies employed by the alliance management group to ensure effective coordination across the portfolio. This position solves problems with experience, and seeks additional guidance for non-routine decisions.

Responsibilities:

Partnership Management: Manages the governance of multiple types of alliances with minimal supervision. Contributes to the portfolio and maintains stakeholder knowledge. Is recognized as an internal expert in the field of alliance management.

Relationship Management: Builds and maintains long-term relationships with alliance partners, business leaders, and key stakeholders (i.e., senior management such as CEO, head of Research & Development, or Division lead).

Co-development Contracts: Understands key stakeholders, contracts, negotiations, and internal decision-making associated with the process. Reviews, consolidates, comments, and sends contracts to Legal.

Conflict Identification and Resolution: Proactively identifies project risks, ensures internal alignment, and leads resolution. Identifies process gaps, develops, and implements strategies to correct them.

Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Education/Experience:
  • MA/MS required, Advanced degree, MBA, or PhD is preferred
  • 10—12 years’ pharmaceutical industry experience
  • 5—7 years’ alliance management experience and an understanding of pharmaceutical development, project management, new product planning, commercialization, and legal/IP issues
  • 3 years’ experience in managing people and teams for improved performance
  • Experience working in or with multiple functional areas within a pharmaceutical organization
Ability to travel up to 20%
