Job Summary:

Position is responsible for managing and supporting activities within one type of alliance to extract the most value from the relationship. Activities include supporting co-development contracts, facilitation of alliance sub-committees, and conflict resolution with general direction. The incumbent is responsible for developing effective working relationships with all individuals involved within the assigned alliance and for building stakeholder knowledge. This position may be assigned routine work and is expected to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems with reference to established precedents and policies. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

Partnership Management: Has rudimentary familiarity with relevant therapeutic area and stage of alliance. Manages the governance of subcommittees for one type of alliance, with supervision.

Relationship Management: Understanding and application of alliance management principles, concepts, practices and standards. Has expertise in working with partners/customers to establish effective working relationships with all individuals involved in the assigned alliance.

Co-development Contracts: Supports the implementation of and provides input on co-development contracts. Provides input on co-development contracts prior to approval within their alliance area.

Conflict Identification and Resolution: Supports conflict resolution with supervision. Implements process improvements and communicates updates to all levels (internal and external).
Qualifications: Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • BA/BS required, MS or MBA degree is a plus
  • 3-5 years’ pharmaceutical industry experience
  • 1-3 years’ alliance management experience and an understanding of pharmaceutical project management or 4-6 years’ experience in a management consulting role requiring integration with complex client relationships and an understanding of pharmaceutical development practices and procedures.
  • Ability to facilitate and manage conflict resolution through mediation and negotiation.
  • Ability to relate effectively across corporate hierarchy and functional areas
  • Ability to apply process thinking to develop, and implement processes in support of alliance management objectives
