Vision for Global Medical Affairs
DSI is on a fast-track toward becoming the leader in oncology medicines and treatments. We are expanding our novel, oncology drug portfolio, to address new targets and building out our Global Medical Affairs team to become an oncology center of excellence at our Basking Ridge US corporate office.

Job Summary
The Senior Director, Global Medical Intelligence, Oncology will become a member of the GMA leadership team. In this high-profile role, you will work across GMA organization and with different functions to determine all critical data sources to implement. You will use those sources to identify and analyze patient treatment trends and gaps, understand the needs of the clinicians, and deliver competitive intelligence back to the business. Your detailed analysis will help shape our future brand strategy. This is a ground floor experience to join a high-performing global medical affairs team and use your professional experience to build, implement and grow our medical intelligence capabilities toward the success of our oncology drug portfolio.

You will lead the delivery of industry-leading competitive analysis, using deep knowledge of the therapeutic area and external resources to shape future-proof our oncology portfolio strategies. Additionally, you will:
  • Deliver out-of-the-box thinking to the team to advance the company's analytical capabilities.
  • Present deep analysis of clinical and commercial data to generate and communicate critical insights on key issues to provide transparency by respectfully challenging key decision makers within the organization including senior leaders.
  • Use your intellectual agility and communication skills to build trusted networks and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Effectively manage internal intelligence sources as well as external competitive intelligence vendors to collect, synthetize and communicate clear and compelling implications with proposed actionable insights.
  • Analyze, interpret and synthesize new trends in the given therapeutic area including biomarkers, competitor pipelines and other scientific information.
  • Influence decisions by initiating and leading discussions with Medical Affairs teams and with executive-level leadership by providing guidance/direction from analytical outputs and by providing alternative scenarios.
Key deliverables:
  • Develop a unified strategic research methodology and plan to address the strategic need and the priorities of the GMA Oncology organization.
  • Collaborate with all functions to utilize data resources to address questions from external customers
  • Develop and present timely strategic report that will elaborate on the current and anticipated competitive landscape, incorporate DS compounds in the mix, highlight the trends in treatment management as well as identify gaps that will inform strategic decisions, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Develop Guidance documents, reports and presentations to relevant internal stakeholders (e.g. GMAT, GPT, GMA leadership) to support defining and adjusting medical strategies and activities.
  • Develop Guidance and direction to support critical strategic deliverables: mid- to long-term franchise strategy, product-specific launch strategy, LCM data generation strategy and MSL communication strategy.
  • Implement regular reports describing new trends and potential opportunities for solid tumor franchise.

Experience & Education
  • A doctorate (PhD, PharmD or MD) is required in life sciences, biological or social sciences
  • Must have 10 years of experience within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, competitive intelligence agency or academia.
  • Strong expertise in oncology
Essential Required Skills
  • Experience in sourcing, analyzing and interpreting oncology unmet needs, competitor pipeline and scientific information.
  • Able to analyze complex scientific data, very good understanding of the scientific trends in oncology.
  • Ability to work within a matrixed business environment, and influence others that are not within your reporting line.
  • Deep knowledge of clinical data, clinical trial design or regulatory frameworks
  • A clear communicator with the ability to communicate complex issues simply
  • Resourceful, motivated, decisive and proactive; must be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-growing organization
  • Excellent strategic and analytical skill including critical thinking and fact-based decision-making
  • Excellent Leadership skills including cross-functional leadership, project management and influencing without authority at a senior level
  • Strong interpersonal skills – ability to succinctly communicate complex issues simply
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Must have the ability to travel globally (15% of the time) for medical congresses and key internal meetings
