Job Summary
The Oncology Specialist is primarily responsible for promoting DSI Oncology products following the current sales and marketing plans. This position will also develop the Oncology customer base, including applicable physicians, nurses, departments, residents, fellows, pharmacists, and formulary decision makers, and other healthcare providers.


Responsibilities

Achieves/exceeds defined brand sales objectives through education, fair and balanced promotion of product features (including benefit/risk profiles) of assigned products among physicians and other healthcare providers in assigned territory.

Demonstrates an understanding of the Oncology disease state, products, market dynamics and Oncology delivery channels.

Responsible for developing long term client relationships based on Oncology specialty focus and/or Oncology patient needs with physicians, pharmacists, and key medical institutions Including but not limited to:

  • comprehensive cancer centers
  • teaching institutions
  • community based Oncology practices
  • specialty pharmacies
  • Oncology group purchasing organizations (GPOs)
  • Oncology product reimbursement environment
  • emerging markets such as accountable care organizations (ACOs)

Possesses the technical aptitude to fully comprehend molecular and cellular biology as well as complex and diverse clinical data as it relates to the effective promotion of a range of Oncology products.

Effectively analyses the oncology market utilizing targeting, planning tools and promotional resources to capitalize on selling opportunities.

Qualifications

Education/Experience
Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; background in science or business a plus; a minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical sales experience; oncology sales experience highly preferred; strong clinical or scientific sales experience considered

Broad healthcare market business acumen and industry knowledge; outstanding verbal communication skills; ability to comprehend and articulate complex pharmaceutical concepts and practices; highly motivated; strong attention to detail.

Must have a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company requirements.

Ability to travel up to 40%, to include overnight travel for meetings. Other travel as required by your territory. (territory sizes vary, some requiring extensive travel)
