Job Summary

Lead the lifecycle management and roadmap development of R&D IT Data Architecture with senior stakeholders in the business and IT colleagues globally. Direct accountability to participate in the global creation of and maintained regarding data/information architecture for the R&D domain of Daiichi Sankyo globally, and to support data mining, analysis, architecture and reporting within Global R&D.
In partnership with the Head of Informatics Technology Services, engage with the R&D business to bring thought leadership and innovative ideas to senior business leaders in the above areas.


Partner with Head of Enterprise Informatics Technology Services to interact with R&D leadership to develop an implementation plan for a Global R&D Enterprise Architecture based on business and regional requirements and IT strategies; participate in Data Architecture implementation activities globally, ongoing Data Architecture refinement activities, and the documentation of all Data Architecture design and analysis work globally for R&D IT portfolio; accountable for the creation of governing global principles to guide solution decision making for the enterprise with other global R&D Informatics stakeholders

Lead the development and management of R&D Master Data Strategy, Application Data Roadmap process with process and data flow diagrams, and the Life Cycle Management of Application Data Roadmaps in partnership with the Head of Enterprise Informatics Technology Services. Incorporates the complexity of regionally aligned systems into Global R&D Informatics overall approach.

Contribute to the development of a Global “Big Data” strategy to mine large amounts of external data and responsible for the creation of complex algorithms to support better decision making within Drug Discovery and Development

As a member of the R&D Informatics Technology Services leadership team, contribute to the Innovative use of Global IT systems in R&D in order to facilitate realization of the R&D Strategy through innovative use of personnel, systems, and data sources, including the creation of a ‘data science’ capability, to enhance decision making and innovate drug development

Management, recruitment and development of a team of highly specialized IT Skills (Clinical Discover and Development Data Mining and Analysis) supporting the implementation and lifecycle of Global R&D IT Systems

Administrative management of R&D IT resources in accordance with local legal entity requirements.


Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.


Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; Graduate Degree or PhD preferred within Computer Science or other scientific discipline
A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT with a minimum of 7 years in an IT leadership role in a Global Life Sciences organization, 7 years of which supporting an R&D function including 4 years of experience in both Drug Discovery and Development IT or Informatics.

Strong understanding of Data Analytics as it applies to the Drug Discovery and Development Process including experience providing analytical support for clinical and discovery scientists.

Thorough understanding of Global Regulations and Business Processes, supporting the Clinical Development of Pharmaceuticals; experience working in a complex global, matrix environment required.
