Job Summary

This position is responsible for revenue and profit generation for our infusion therapy product, primarily to Oncology Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), and oncology group practices. This Director will manage strategies and activities of key National Accounts for the company as well as manage the team of Corporate Account Managers. This position is responsible for managing key relationships with assigned 3rd party sales organizations. This position will actively participate in development of strategies and tactics related to Sales and Marketing, and interfaces with other Departments, as required.

Responsibilities

Identifies, secures and develops relationships at the executive level for all assigned accounts and 3rd party sales organizations (oncology and specialty GPO).
Promotes the sale of assigned products to new and established accounts, and to 3rd party sales organizations, to achieve sales objectives.
Participates and manages contract negotiations with account team members, assigned accounts and 3rd party sales organizations on new and renewal agreements. Monitors said agreements for compliance and performance.
Provides accounts team with strategic direction and support of daily activities; actively targets customers for new product penetration.
Acts as a key contact for obtaining and disseminating information between accounts, 3rd party sales organizations and the company.
Participates in developing and implementing account strategies and tactics related to:
  • Marketing
  • Designing or fulfilling new customer initiatives
  • Business growth
  • New policies and procedures
Provides specific, concrete market feedback regarding product price; provide real time input regarding pricing decisions.
Provides knowledge and leadership to the sales team in relation to formulary statuses, pull-through implementation efforts, and other related areas.
Routinely evaluates sales efforts and focuses on high priority products identified by management; administers and maintains required records, and prepares reports as requested by management.

Qualifications

Education/Experience
  • Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; MBA preferred
  • A minimum of 7 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, strong consultative selling skills and the ability to identify opportunities and close business
  • A minimum 3 years of experience in the development, successful negotiation and implementation of IDN, health system, GPO customer contracts, including recent experience managing Wholesaler, Oncology or Specialty GPO accounts
  • 3 years of experience in a team leadership role in the hospital and/or buy and bill pharmaceutical market segment
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with key individuals at National GPO Accounts, (Oncology, Hospital or Specialty).
  • Knowledge of the national and managed markets environments, and competitive landscape.
  • Ability to conceptualize, develop and execute strategies/plans.
  • Strong financial/business acumen and analytical skills.
  • Proven contract negotiation and business planning skills.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills including clear presentation of technical and analytical information to various management levels and external parties..
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, especially with interactions at the executive level.
  • Strong computer skills, which includes a high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
