Job Summary

Medical Affairs leader for assigned compound/s and /or project(s under the leadership of the GMA Franchise head or the Senior Medical Director. Responsible for the development of the strategy and execution of the Global Medical Affairs plans for specific activities within GMA.

Responsibilities

The Director, GMA Oncology Franchise Strategy ADC (solid tumor) according to assigned compound/and or project priorities and needs, leads strategic planning for Publication , and/or Medical Education (external & internal), Medical Science Liaisons (MSL), and/or Key Expert Engagement, and/or Advisory Boards, and/or Patient Advocacy, and/or Medical Information programs in alignment with GMA Oncology, CE GPT, & Regions/Countries
Ensure Strategic alignment & functional synergies across entire portfolio / all disease teams; Ensure appropriate forecasting, optimal allocation and management of budget across all key activities

Publications: Develop an overarching publication strategy for franchise/compounds and provide content. Ensure timely release and communication of key data. Lead interface with external stakeholders related to appropriate dissemination of data. Accountable for appropriate GMAT review.

Medical Education: Develop medical education strategy based on completing comprehensive needs assessment of knowledge gaps (Internal stakeholders, MSL feedback, medical inquiries, external literature, etc.). Ensure proactive and at-risk planning to optimize dissemination of key data at critical conferences. Ensure strong alignment with regions on needs to deliver proper content that can be customized by regions

Key Expert Engagement: Develop strategy to deliver innovative solutions to enhance engagement with external medical experts by providing medical education and dissemination of key clinical trial published data, including use of innovative digital solutions.

Advisory Boards: Support Sr. Medical Director with needs assessment, planning and execution for advisory boards.

Patient Advocacy: Develop an overarching strategy to work with patient advocacy groups to better understand the needs of patients and incorporate their input in trial design and ensure that the voice and needs of patients is at the center of everything.

Medical Information: Develop knowledge and expertise in order to generate appropriate content for Medical Information database. Monitor medical literature/guidelines for product(s) in franchise and relevant competitor data. Provide support for MI affiliate escalations by conducting an in-depth analysis of published and unpublished data and engaging cross-functional colleagues to ensure appropriate and aligned response to complex inquiries. Responsible for responding to inquiries where no DSI affiliate is available. Analyze customer inquiry data to analyze trends
Responsible to efficiently manage budgets and resources for GMA supported activities, in collaboration with the Senior Medical Director and/or the GMA Franchise Head

Qualifications

Education/Experience

PhD, Pharm D; advanced knowledge in medical/scientific area (Oncology) required.
  • Have an good knowledge of current clinical practice in Oncology / Hematology / or other relevant disease area
  • Have strong knowledge in and understanding of medical activities (including scientific communications, medical information, MSLs,), relating to the commercialization of oncology products
  • Effectively engage external stakeholders across a broad range of audiences and activities
  • ≥5 years’ experience in pharma at local ,regional and/or Global level
  • Can effectively manage and optimize resources and budget to meet business needs; have excellent project management skills
  • Provide medical expertise to ensure successful product launches across functions
  • Lead and manage different activities:
  • Review promotional materials,
  • Provide training to external and internal customers,
  • Define publication strategy and contribute to publication planning
  • Review publications
  • Build strong internal and external relationships with diverse stakeholders that maximize alignment and organizational effectiveness
  • Can effectively manage different and diverse projects (, publication, medical education, Advisory boards)
  • Display enterprise leadership in all aspects of the role by gaining alignment across functions and divisions
  • Integrate medical expertise with commercial perspective
  • Expertly manage ambiguity and complex situations
  • Maintain an external focus to optimize and maximize treatment options and compound life cycle management
