Job Summary

Support GMA Oncology to drive strategic and operational priorities of the function. Establish frameworks and processes to ensure that related deliverables are executed in a timely, appropriate and cost-effective manner. Lead optimization of working relationships across functions in GMA Oncology and with other line functions outside of GMA, with R&D, Commercial, Regions, and countries. Establish clear channels of communication for key stakeholders across the organization.


GMA Operations:

Develop annual plan for all key GMA meetings (internal, key functions & regions).Support with preparing agenda, meeting minutes, and follow-up on action items

Ensure the overall GMA team runs effectively including management of meetings, agendas, tracking decisions, follow-up, etc.

Establish and effectively maintain GMA SharePoint sites

Ensure appropriate oversight of day to activities related to execution of Governance & Operational Excellence strategy to ensure optimal effectiveness

Track progress of key initiatives and report back to Head of GMA Oncology and Leadership team regarding status & mitigation plans, on a regular basis

Lead and/ or assist with activities related to development of policies, proceduresand systems to ensure appropriate infrastructure for establishing Oncology GMA function

Establish process for development & maintenance of Non-Regulated GMA Documents (Guidance/reference documents)

Cross-functional alignment:

Drive operational alignment on medical affairs activities through GMA/Regional Operation forums at different levels, as appropriate

Drive operational alignment with CE across different activities , including alignment with multiple GPTs

Establish mechanism for monitoring cross-functional projects, including communication plan within GMA Oncology/Regions/Countries for key deliverable, outcomes and implementation

Support with activities related to establishing and implementing key cross-functional forums which are critical for achieving business objectives


Build and implement a comprehensive, multi-channel, annual internal communications plan that supports the achievement of Oncology GMA annual business objectives and long-term success and ensures that employees are informed and connected to the business and management

Lead activities for developing and implementing Oncology GMA Newsletter hi-lighting key achievements and geared towards a broad Cancer Enterprise audience

Develop a communication strategy to ensure all associates are aware of status of key GMA initiatives

Identify and drive best practice sharing initiatives both within and outside the group and monitor progress

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor Degree in Science or Business Administration from an accredited college or university
  • Have strong knowledge on operational aspects of medical affairs activities. Knowledge and/or experience in leading medical affairs oversight & governance activities preferred
  • Awareness of external trends and changes in regulation in order to proactively adjust internal processes
  • ≥ 5 years’ experience in pharma at local ,regional and/or Global level
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead large cross-functional projects in a complex matrix environment
  • Ability to facilitate and influence decision making to driver results
  • Proven ability to drive pragmatic solutions to complex problems
  • Strong change management skills to drive and sustain a culture of high ethical standards and compliance
  • Expertly lead and manage large, cross-functional, global teams to achieve high performance
  • Build strong internal and external relationships with diverse stakeholders that maximize alignment and organizational effectiveness
  • Can effectively manage oversight of different and diverse activities(clinical program, publication, medical education, Advisory boards)
  • Effectively develop, communicate, and drive a long term vision and plan for oversight of medical affairs activities, anticipating and addressing potential issues
  • Display enterprise leadership in all aspects of the role by gaining alignment across functions and regions
  • Integrate subject matter expertise and cross-functional perspectives to ensure that proposed solutions effectively meet the needs of all stakeholders
  • Expertly manage ambiguity and highly complex situations
  • Have excellent communications skills and ability to communicate effectively across diverse audience and organizational levels
  • Some travel required
