Job Summary:

The Director, Head of the Office of Grants and Education is responsible for all oversight and management of the OGE, including: strategic planning with internal stakeholders, budget management, operations, administration, compliance, reporting and development and enhancement of the OG&E. The Director of OG&E is accountable for ensuring that all activities within and in connection with the OG&E are handled appropriately and compliantly. This position will serve as the medical education and adult learning expert within Medical Affairs, and is the Company liaison for independent medical education with medical societies, medical education vendors/agencies/providers and other organizations/companies within the medical education industry.

  • Strategic planning and collaboration with internal stakeholders in therapeutic areas
  • Day to day management and administration of the OG&E (e.g., timely, compliant intake, review, processing and follow up on independent medical education grants, all interactions with internal stakeholders and external agencies).
  • Development and provision of activity reports

Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Qualified candidates must have a Master's degree from an accredited college or university; PharmD or PhD preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience; at least 7 years in the Independent Medical Education industry (at least 5 years in oncology strongly preferred)
  • Proven expertise in medical education and field of adult learning
  • Scientific expertise in oncology
  • Deep understanding of external educational needs in oncology
  • Comprehensive understanding of all relevant laws, regulations and standards pertaining to medical education and grants and demonstrated ability to interpret and comply/apply (e.g., FDA requirements, PhRMA Code, AMA, ACCME and other accrediting bodies, OIG guidelines, Open Payments)
  • Customer Focus
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively with external partners and internal colleagues across functions/divisions (US, Global, DSPD, Legal Affairs, Compliance etc…)
  • Self-motivated with proven ability to work independently with little direction
  • Strong leadership skills, including ability to lead cross-functional team collaboration towards achieving objectives
  • Proven strategic planning and program/project management skills
  • Strong budget management & phasing skills
  • Strong communication (verbal and in written form) and presentation skills
  • Solid experience in strategic planning
  • Innovative and adept at thinking expansively
  • Managing competing demands and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in oversight of data systems requirements in order to meet the evolving needs of the grants process
