Job Summary:

The Head, Talent Acquisition is responsible for the development and execution of the Daiichi Sankyo, Inc. talent acquisition strategy that is aligned with the current and future business strategies and priorities of each Division and Function. This position sits on the Human Resources Leadership Team.

Responsibilities:
  • Strategic
    • Aligns with current and future organizational direction and develops and implements talent acquisition solutions to meet those needs to attract top talent to DSI.
    • Stays abreast of competitive talent acquisition trends in the industry to drive long range recruitment and talent acquisition initiatives.
    • Optimizes the onboarding process.
  • Operational
    • Develops appropriate metrics and tracking mechanisms to measure overall Talent Acquisition effectiveness, results, impact and cost-effectiveness.
    • Develops and delivers programs, such as employee referral, college relations, new employee orientation, contingency staffing and diversity recruiting.
    • Partners with department leadership to find creative solutions to talent acquisition gaps and future needs. 

    • Performs conventional and unconventional online and offline, marketing, branding, sourcing and recruitment strategies. 

    • Designs and drives a workforce deployment agenda looking at critical skills, geographic footprint, and people movement in and out of the organization to maximize DSI’s human capital.
    • Establishes and implements talent acquisition strategies by identifying emerging business needs, talent gaps, best practice benchmarks and staffing trends.
    • Pro-actively engages the leadership team to anticipate and assess talent acquisition needs based on current and future business requirements. Build and implement the appropriate staffing strategies to support.
    • Establishes processes and activities to ensure sourcing and attraction of top talent across a broad array of functions and businesses.
    • Ensures that the right tools, technology, processes, practices, and measurements are in place to execute the talent strategy. Builds and maintains recruiting policies, procedures and processes to enhance effectiveness, reduce time to hire and cost per hire while increasing overall customer satisfaction and employee retention.
    • Utilizes cutting edge technology and social networking tools as well as traditional sourcing techniques to build talent pipeline. Evaluate job postings, interviews and other internal talent recruitment and placement processes to ensure optimal candidate experience. Assist with the development of on-boarding processes that support talent retention.
    • Leverages Human Resources systems, workforce data and talent acquisition reports to diagnose and implement plans to address deficiencies in consultation with business leaders. Regularly analyze recruiting, diversity, retention and other HR metrics.
    • Manages relationships with appropriate external organizations, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and outsourcing and supplier management in order to meet talent acquisition goals.
    • May frequently liaise with Tokyo HR professionals on global talent initiatives.
  • Leadership/People
    • Develops relationships with functional leaders to ensure ongoing success of Talent Acquisition strategies.
    • Develops and directs a flexible and adaptive recruiting team that is able to quickly respond to the needs of the business and continuously improve processes and practices.
    • Leads the talent acquisition function to drive recruiting standards across the organization ensuring the right tools, processes, practices and measurements are in place that pursues standards of flawless execution.
    • Attracts, develops and motivates a team of talented colleagues.
    • Provides leadership, regular performance feedback and coaching, career and development opportunities to allow team members to increase their skills and grow professionally.
    • Works effectively with peers on the Human Resources Leadership Team.

Qualifications
Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Education/Experience:
  • Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Undergraduate degree required; Master’s Degree preferred
  • 10+ years of human resources experience (or equivalent leadership experience)
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience
  • Pharma industry experience, including R&D, and exposure to a global environment is preferred
  • Ability to work in global / matrix organizations leading change.
  • Ability to build and use metrics to gain buy-in for critical initiatives; can also create relevant ‘dashboards’ to be shared with senior leaders to aid decision-making. Strong analytics and business acumen required.
  • Ability to assess organizational trends and proactively educate and enhance people, process & systems to build a best in class function.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels, particularly at the senior leadership level.
  • Ability to manage large scale interventions and initiatives, and can connect all relevant points to ensure seamless execution.
  • Impeccable organizational, presentation and execution ability.
  • Keen analytical and interpretative ability.
  • Comfortable being a pioneer and change agent to build human capacity at DSI.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

Ability to travel up to 20%

Compensation and seniority level/title will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Duties and responsibilities may vary based on the position level/title.
