Job Summary

Daiichi Sankyo, Inc. (DSI) is currently seeking a Health Outcomes Liaison to join the Field Medical Affairs Team. For this position, the territory will support the North Eastern part of the US (MI, OH, PA, DE, NJ, NY, CT, RI, MA, VT, NH, ME). The Health Outcomes Liaison (HOL) develops the ability to provide scientific and health economics/outcomes research support for DSI initiatives and engages in the dissemination of the DSI product/portfolio and total value proposition (TVP), upon request to customers in various US healthcare segments, with a predominant payer focus.

Responsibilities

Builds and maintains professional relationships with the various customers relevant to the HOL role by developing the skills and with guidance implementing the following:
  • Delivering scientific and pharmacoeconomic data for DSI products to health care system decision makers responsible for managing medical care in various settings including managed care organizations, pharmacy benefit management companies, payer groups, or at company-sponsored advisory board meetings
  • Identifying and communicating scientific, clinical, health outcomes and pharmacoeconomic research information and/or objectives of health care decision makers to appropriate DSI colleagues;
  • Collaborating with the Medical Science Liaisons as appropriate to meet the mutual scientific, clinical, therapeutic area and DSI product informational needs of the health care decision makers and HCPs
  • Developing and cultivating direct relationships with identified opinion leaders and payer influencers in practice and/or academia to discuss therapeutic areas important to DSI.
  • Coordinating scientific presentations and communications within geographical area of responsibility between health care system decision makers and DSI colleagues
  • Gathering customer insights to help inform medical and commercial decision making
  • Enhanced professional expertise through attendance at select scientific meetings and professional conferences for the purpose of continuing education, and scientific exchange with value based decision makers
  • Presenting health outcomes research and pharmacoeconomic data when appropriate, and scientific exchange with value based decision makers and key opinion leaders
  • Develops positive working relationships with appropriate internal field stakeholders (e.g., HEOR, managed markets, etc.)
  • Develops the ability to apply the appropriate methods to implement the FMA department strategy within his/her geography in alignment with Medical and Brand strategies
  • Supports and participates in DSI field medical projects/initiatives within his/her geography, aligned cross functionally as appropriate.
  • Completes administrative duties, including monthly expense reporting and field activity reporting and represents the Health Outcomes Liaison function by participating in DSI meetings, functions, events

Additional duties and responsibilities are based on position level/title, may include but are not limited to:

  • Provides innovation in enhancing and developing professional relationships with customers within various US healthcare segments with a predominant payer focus to provide scientific and health economics/outcomes research support for DSI initiatives
  • Ability to anticipate trends and capitalize on opportunities
  • Lead special projects/initiatives
  • Assist in the development of team members
  • Represent FMA leadership at DSI meetings, functions and events

Qualifications

The successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without reasonable accommodation

Education/Experience

Qualified candidates will have the following:
  • PharmD, MD., or Ph.D in a health sciences related field required; Master's in pharmacoepidemiology, epidemiology, or health economics preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience including medical & scientific affairs, clinical practice, research, academic or US managed markets required with a minimum of 2 years in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Previous experience in Thrombosis, Cardiology and/or Metabolic Disorders, Oncology or Pain, pharmacoeconomics, health outcomes research, disease management principles/tools and EBM highly desirable
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company requirements
This position requires 60% travel including overnight
Compensation and seniority level/title will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Duties and responsibilities may vary based on the position level/title.
