Job Summary
The Manager, Fin
ance & Accounting will have a combination of responsibilities in corporate accounting and finance. The person will ensure accurate accounting analysis and reporting for the assigned accounts. This role will also assist Sr. Director Corporate Finance in driving DSAC’s operating planning process as well as assisting in budget management for Global cost centers.


General Accounting - The person will oversee an assigned area of accounting and will be responsible for the analysis and appropriate accounting and reporting for the assigned area. The role will review and approve SAP data and journal entries, supporting schedules and subsequent account reconciliations. This role is responsible for proactive communication with FP&A team or other business owners or accounting staff of any issues or unusual transactions or accounting treatment. The person will ensure compliance with JSOX, IFRS and internal policies and procedures. He or she will demonstrate advanced understanding of internal policies and procedures as well as IFRS reporting.

Financial Planning & Analysis – Assist the Senior Director, Corporate Finance in driving the Company’s Annual Strategic and Operating Plans, including:
  • Determine schedule and deadlines for all relevant groups ensuring we are able to deliver complete and accurate estimates by the assigned deadline, allowing for senior management review and input.
  • Analyze and interpret consolidated forecasts, ensuring completeness, targets are met and expenses are reasonable per function.
  • Manage reserve accounts and determine availability of funds for special projects.
  • Provide support to budget managers and Financial Planning & Analysis team.
  • Aid management in tracking financial goals and targets.
  • Maintain awareness of the financial issues within the company to assist with providing related meaningful analysis.
Change Management – Continuously review financial procedures. Identify, develop and drive new processes, procedures and/or system enhancements to improve organizational efficiencies and cost controls while ensuring accuracy and controls are not compromised. Display cross- divisional leadership by enhancing reporting clarity and communication of key information among groups.

Management Reporting - Design, develop and distribute reporting that provides clear analytical results for the business owners and stakeholders. Prepare monthly executive summary reporting included in the executive reporting package.

Business Partnership
  • Act as a liaison between Corporate Finance and auditors (internal and external).
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the business as well as business partner needs and ensure we are able to align with Finance objectives.
  • Educate business partners on financial issues, policies and procedures. Ensure they have clear understanding of deadlines as well as targets and goals.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university; a minimum of 5 years’ of experience in accounting and/or Financial Planning and Analysis-related work, pharmaceutical/R&D experience preferred
