Job Summary:

This position has overall responsibility for supporting the development organization specifically in reporting for our CRO alliances, overview of contracts, and contract analytics. This position will work closely with various levels of management, cross-functional teams, external partners/vendors and shared service personnel.


Contract Analytics- Leads the CRO alliance reporting and analytics. Overviews all contracts to ensure sound financials and accurate payment schedules that keep the CRO in a cash neutral position. Spearheads the collection and consolidation of CRO units achieved to date and a forecast for the remainder of the contract to help identify gaps, delays, or updates to the internal financial forecasts by working jointly with the CRO partner on a regular basis.

Invoice Reviews – Provides financial oversight of invoices to ensure there is alignment with the contracted payment schedule and milestones were met. Trains business owners on what to look for and how to validate the accuracy of invoices.

Cash Forecasting – This position will be the point person for treasury and the cash forecasting process.

Controllership – This position is also responsible for reviewing how and at what level we look at our expenses within the contract and implement changes and industry best practices for more robust controllership. Provides guidance to Outsourcing team members as needed.

Special Projects/Change Management – Accountable for the development and implementation of new processes, procedures and/or systems to improve organizational efficiencies and cost controls. Responsible for the development and management of other ad hoc special projects as they arise. Assists in developing solutions and decisions aligned with organizational strategies and objectives.

Financial Systems and Controls – Assist the Sr. Finance staff with recommendations and implementation on new and existing systems utilized by the Global Development Finance group to improve the Global budgeting and forecasting process. Coordination with all functional areas impacted including Legal, Outsourcing, Project Management and Commercial Operations. Liaison to Parent Company in Japan.

Bachelor’s Degree preferred (Finance/Accounting) or commensurate experience

5 plus years in a business environment
5 plus years Finance/Accounting Experience
Supporting R&D organizations Preferred, CRO experience preferred
