Job Summary:

The Manager, Market Access develops and executes payer strategies and tactics to ensure inline product and pipeline product success and appropriate reimbursement placement. In partnership with cross-functional stakeholders, the Manager, Market Access will develop strategic plans and utilize appropriate tools and tactics to execute on disease education and brand initiatives for his/her assigned brands, customer segments (payers or systems), or function e.g. pull-through.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement payer marketing promotional campaigns including the messages and program materials to be used by Account Managers with assigned customer segments. Deliverables include:
    • Account Manager material support for value message and pull through: visual aids, value decks and other brand messaging campaign elements/materials including non-personal materials as needed. Includes the development and implementation of pre-launch materials and disease state campaigns for launch approaching brands.
    • Responsible for ensuring close collaboration with Brand teams and co-promote partners (if applicable) in order to ensure that all strategies and tactics as well as marketing mix align with the Brands’ goals and objectives.
    • Regulatory approvals: Responsible for PMRT (Product Material Review Team) PGC (Promotional Grant Committee) process management related to projects and programs.
    • Market research: Generates primary and secondary data points to support strategies through market research, advisory boards, and Account Manager feedback mechanisms.
  • Understand, monitor, and evaluate the effect of healthcare marketplace changes and evolving delivery systems, analyze alternative engagement models and develop strategic market access recommendations for in-line and pipeline products in assigned channels.
  • Lead management of Managed Markets speaker bureau
    • Collaborate with professional programs team to manage budget and speaker contracting
    • Develop new programs in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to educate customers about relevant healthcare topics
  • Create access generating tools (assisting Account Managers ability to meet with targeted customers): customer-mediated formulary adherence initiatives, unbranded and disease state awareness tools and resources
  • Manage agency and vendor relationships to develop promotional programs and tactics aligned with the payer/brand strategy
    • Effectively manage budgets and project timelines

Qualifications
Successful candidates will be able to meet the qualifications below with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Education/Experience:
  • Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Background in oncology (oral or IV) and/or orphan/rare disease preferred
  • 5+ years in pharmaceutical / biotech payer related positions or commensurate experience and education required.
  • Action oriented, strategic planning, teamwork, financial analysis, strong organizational skills
  • Excellence Assessment Skills (minimum at Stage 1 level)
  • Manages Resources Effectively
  • Proven record of success through teamwork and execution
  • Ability to work cross-functionally required
  • Must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and project management skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as Veeva Vault (platform for promotion piece submission / Legal, Medical, Regulatory review)
  • Knowledge of the payer environment and understanding of the evolving reimbursement landscape
  • Pharmaceutical product launch experience preferred
  • Stays current on regulatory guidelines, market trends, and competitive activity and the implications of such on DSI’s policies.
