Job Summary:

The Manager of Marketing Services & Production Operations is responsible for managing the end-to-end process of DSAC and corporate DSI print and promotional assets including planning, project management, budgeting, execution, distribution and lifecycle management of Daiichi Sankyo’s in-line and pipe-line products, corporate and managed markets. The position provides expertise to the Product Brand Teams, Legal & Compliance, Alliance Partners and Key Stakeholders related to innovation, design, operations, and processes.

  • Production Responsibilities:
    • Lead supplier management between suppliers, agencies, Alliance Partners and Key Stakeholders to ensure critical dates are met and all issues are proactively identified, communicated and mitigated as appropriate.
    • Ensures agency designs and specifications are optimal and appropriate for marketing mix requirements.
    • Advanced knowledge in all aspects of print production and promotional materials from acquisitions to project management (e.g. equipment, design and layout, regulatory and compliance)
    • Ensures quality and regulatory process checks (e.g. review proofs against approved PDFs and confirms FDA Form 2253 submission prior to shipping materials and utilization).
    • Provides strategic and operational insights for the execution and timeliness of assets from conception to market.
    • Leads and/or support the design, development and implementation of direct mail/fulfillment initiatives.
    • Drives optimal savings opportunities.
  • Distribution responsibilities:
    • Key contributor to the strategic planning and execution to enhance productivity and efficiencies for distribution activities.
    • Manages day to day distribution operations and systems.
    • Provides key insights in the development and implementation of relevant technology to ensure optimal ease of use and simplicity for colleagues.
    • Manages the inventory forecasting paradigm, optimization of inventory levels and cost containment for print and warehousing.
    • Facilitates orientation, coaching and training for new hires.
  • Marketing Services Responsibilities:
    • Provides strategic and operational insights to Brand Teams, Managed Markets and Alliance Partners related to brand tactics. For example, provides input to brand development of layouts, concepts and creative solutions.
    • Manages the planning activities consisting of setting targets, liaising with stakeholders and managing project dependencies.
    • Ensures the corporate branding and brand graphic standards are correct across various media.
    • Oversees the template development and placement on multiple established systems (e.g. FormTrak and Conductor) and aids in the training for Managed Markets pull-through applications.
    • Manages collection of data needed for various reports for government required reporting (e.g. Aggregate Spend reporting, CIA reports, Legal & Regulatory reporting).
    • Manages the on-boarding, orientation & coaching of reps, suppliers, internal & external business partners relating to production and promotional distribution activities.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Manages ensuring revised and new Prescribing Information (PI)/labeling is updated and available through various media and version control (e.g. websites, journal advertisements, promotional materials and attachment).
    • Manages the promotional materials legal archiving process.
    • Provides insight on development of budgets for production and distribution, seasonalization and adherence.
    • Suggests continuous improvement opportunities with manager by identifying key projects and programs that are unique and will directly or in-directly impact the business.
    • Strong partner and core team member in the development and optimization initiatives, programs and software solutions.
    • Aligns with sourcing to identify vendors and evaluate potential suppliers.
    • Manages the performance of the suppliers for reliability, quality, accuracy and anticipate risk mitigation.

  • High School diploma or relevant experience is required. BA or BS degree preferred.
  • 7-10 years in Pharmaceutical Marketing Operations/Services and/or Project Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience with Print Production & Distribution management a must
  • Must have strong knowledge in creating and reading print specifications
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical industry, compliance, regulations and requirements
  • Adaptability and understanding of workflows and how to convert into processes and IT applications
  • Experience in project planning, workflow management, vendor negotiation and management, cost control, quality control, logistical coordination, print and digital technologies
  • Familiarity in web-based ordering and fulfillment technology
  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Must be able to multi-task and the ability to prioritize workload to meet all objectives
  • Must have excellent communication, analytical, decision-making, trouble-shooting, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Applications
