Job Summary:

Leads the strategic direction of the OPM dept, Ensures there are systems and processes in place for a full Audit trail. Oversees the assessment, selection, negotiation, and execution of contracts and relationship management of vendors providing externally contracted services managed by various DS departments. Oversees the entire Outsourcing process from Request for Proposal (RFP) to final contract and also manages vendor relationships throughout this process. Has strategic vision and demonstrated leadership skills. Experienced expert who is comfortable leading complex initiatives of high dollar value from inception through to implementation. Demonstrates ability to handle global projects through established interactions with Japan and Europe as required. Leads collaborations with all required depts. Is an expert at handling tenuous or challenging relations through negotiation. Demonstrates strategic foresight and leadership when approaching tasks and ensures that all key stakeholders are fully on board.


Evaluates the outsourcing models and the cost-benefits across models. Rationalizes outsourcing cost base locally, regionally, and globally. Influences the direction of outsourcing at an organizational level. Influences relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Partners with senior leadership to meet business targets. Program level and organizational contracts and outsourcing models of high complexity.

Demonstrates mastery understanding of procurement principles, legal language, vendor selection criteria. Problem solves and negotiates at the program and organizational level and at the regional and global cross-functionality level. Builds and retains world-class team and provides direction to team; coaches and mentors colleagues. Persuades and influences CRO leadership and internal stakeholders. Develops business relationships with CRO leadership and internal stakeholders.

Demonstrates expert knowledge of the industry, vendor base, and regulatory issues. Requires no supervision at the study and program level. Acts as the ultimate relationship influencer with vendors. Proactively predicts, prevents, and resolves issues and conflicts; appropriately escalates as needed. Is accountable for outsourcing; shares certain aspects of accountability with DSI Heads of Development, PT and GMA.

Masters Degree in Business Administration or Life Sciences preferred (would take highly experienced with Bachelors)

Minimum 15 years in outsourcing, health sciences or related field (clinical trials), deep experience in vendor management

Cross-functional leadership experience

Line management experience leading senior professionals in a complex business setting
